Sep or Soulfly?

I know nu metal gets hammer, and IMO nothing Soulfly does can compare to Sepultura's material pre-Max Cavalera's departure, but since he split Sep have been pretty average and I think Soulfly kick ass.

Re: Sep or Soulfly?

Soulfly I like, however, I like Sepultura much better. Also, if you have heard the two in concert, you would be a fool to say Soulfly is better in concert.

Re: Sep or Soulfly?

I disagree heartily; I've seen the two live, (Sep more than once) and stand by my original statement. Nothing can touch old Sep, especially up to Arise. But alas, without him, they fell and Soulfly rose from their ashes.
Its a close race so far!!!!!!

Re: Sep or Soulfly?

I've only seen Soulfly in concert, not Sepultura. But as far as music, I like Sepultura's better, judging merely by the one CD I have. Either way, we like Max, Max is cool, yay Max.

Rose from their ashes as if they were the best. I think not my friend. I would put Slayer above the old Sep and the new and Soulfly, I would also put MachineHead above them both. Not to forget to mention Pantera who is not better than Slayer but coming right up there.

Re: Sep or Soulfly?

Oh my goodness I'm all a tremble with the heresy I'm hearing.
Except for the Slayer comment, I'm with you there - but Machine Head and Pantera?????

I've seen all these bands live, I even saw Machine Head support Slayer, and in the gig stakes this is the list in order of talent, tightness, power and technical aptitude:

Slayer
Old Sep
Soulfly
Pantera
Machine Head

Did you know that Logan Mader actually left Machine Head to join Soulfly when they first formed? Because the man knew a good thing when he saw it

Re: Sep or Soulfly?

heresy is a religious word. Are you a religious man?

So long as you admit Slayer is the greatest metal band ever I don't care where you put machinehead or pantera.

SLAYER!

Re: Sep or Soulfly?

I saw Sepultra on their Chaso AD tour and they were bad ass. I got Igor's (The drummer) autograph...Is he still with them? I lost interest in them when they put out Roots. I do not know much on Soul Fly. I think I have heard a song or two, I can't recall off the top of my head.

Re: Sep or Soulfly?

I must say, I've only heard two or so songs of sepultra, but Soulfly are real good. When Im in the mood of listening to this sort of music I listen to KoRn too. Anyone enjoy listening to KoRn?

Re: Sep or Soulfly?

Hahaha, how nice of you. But dont expect me to know birthdates of the artists and stuff like that... I enjoy their music, but Im no hardcore fan of them that knows everything...

I suppose starting a new thread would be a good idea
