Re: what type of music do you like
Speaking about the metal, doom metal is the best ~_^ Tristania, The Theatre of Tragedy… Although I’m not a goth I’m fond of Lacrimosa. The voice of Tilo Wolf puts me in ecstasy…
…Antichrisis where folk theme combines with heavy guitar is also cool. M, there’re a lot of musicians I like. |

Re: what type of music do you like
Old skool hip hop and electro.
Then new school hip hop, 80' & 90's techno/acid/house, blues, dub/reggae/ska, jazz, electronica, some genre-spanning tunes. If it's good, I like it. Like the Red Hot Chili Peppers free concert on BBC Digital, very good, very very good. They know how to play live. They're a real rock band, they even lift lyrics from Public Enemy with respect. Re: what type of music do you like
I'm sort o professionally without taste; if someone comes and asks me to record them, then I've got to put myself inside their music to do a good job. Even if I'm PAing a festival I'm not much use if the music leaves me cold. So I discover lots of new forms and genres of music.
Still, my tastes we established a log time ago, so I tend to listen to older stuff in my spare time, though this could be Stravinsky, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Beethoven, Velvet Underground, Frank Zappa… ![]() |

Re: what type of music do you like
Of late I seem to be developing a strong taste for things like Midnight Syndicate and Nox Arcana (somewhat more toward the latter, as their work seems a bit more solidly structured to me, but perhaps that's just my perception). A bit theatrical, even melodramatic, but quite nice; at times extremely evocative.

Re: what type of music do you like
My taste in music ranges from progressive rock, through rock (including metal) to folk and bluegrass/country/Americana. Also some classical. But I listen to either prog or folk more than anything else.
Also, there is no such thing as 'the best guitarist ever'. Hendrix was certainly a great guitarist, but there have been a good number up there with him, like Steve Vai, Carlos Santana, Steve Howe, to name just three. My personal favourite is/was Peter Green of the original Fleetwood Mac. ![]() Snowdog |

Re: what type of music do you like
Alot of different things but mainly band music -
I really do range as to my mood at the time e.g. Iron Maiden, Sabeth, Megadeath, Metallica and the Foo's. Though mainly less well known bands and small European groups, though at the minute I'm liking female vocalists set to a metal riff like Nightwish or Lacunacoil for some reason - And of course the god's that are Led zep and Queen! They got me through some hard times. But then I can go for Damien rice, U2, REM or Keane and the like from time to time and one of my friends plays alot of the Manic's which has a tendency to worm its way into my head. Does not help that both my sisters play it alot as well along with classical - Some of which is quite catchy Haha! |

Re: what type of music do you like
To be honest, it depends on my current mood/situation, etc. A wide variety, though some of my favorites are Stravinsky, Crumb, Holst (Planets, of course), Wagner, Hawkwind, Russ Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Penderecki (especially "Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima", "The Dream of Jacob" and "Polymorphia"); Varese, Ligetti, Bernard Herrmann, Jerry Goldsmith, Lalo Schiffrin, Goblin, Moricone, Blue Oyster Cult, court music (12th-14th centuries), Gregorian chant. The latest addition to favorites is Nox Arcana. (You know, the word "schizophrenic" just doesn't cover this.....)
