I love hard + soft rock, and I hate rap, for I believe that they just do it to talk bout 'dem HO's, and they talk to fast.

I can listen from anything from classical, to rap, to hard rock. But I prefer, by far, hard rock. Also, I don't know if Ozzfest tours in England, but Iron Maiden is one of the headlining bands on that tour. And it's a great place to check out lots of metal bands.

I agree. Looking back at my attitude towards music when I was in high school, I now realize how much of a music elitist I once was. Now older (although far from wiser), I've backed away from my harsh opinions on types of music I don't like.

Pop music like Britney Spears ("Spear Britany" as the t-shirt says), drives me up the wall. It is hard for me to listen to anything that is so obviously manufactured and acutely cross marketed. As Primus once yelled in their song "AntiPop", 'I stood by watching / And I seen 'em come and go / I seen 'em make that million / Then vanish in the snow.' Spears is no artist. But she is an entertainer. A very talented one. The musical beats that are provided to her (sometimes with her influence) are actually quite good and tight in development. She has a good ear and knows how to put on a good show, but she isn't dancing upon my paycheck. I'm not exactly within her target market.

Rap, in my opinion, has lost an incredible amount of actual social significance and true street credibility...even for this hopeless white boy. The rap artists have become far too eager to trade in integrity for endorsements and flashy jewerly. As Ani DiFranco sang in "Serpentine," 'And hip hop is tied up in the back room / With a logo stuffed in its mouth / Cuz the master's tools will never dismantle the master's house.' But that isn't to say the genre hasn't had a huge influence on my favorite genres at times. Groups like Cypress Hill are good examples. When rap goes back to having something to say beyond bragging about itself, I will go back to buying rap albums because no genre is inherently trash.

Rap(almost type RAPE 0.o) is basically just a bunch of people talking real fast about controversial crap that comes into thier minds and make millions off of it.If i became a rapper, i would make it the most popular thing since i have a very warped and twisted mind, which is why I WONT become one. Also, seeing as everyone in my school listens to rap and has a destinct oppion that I'm not cool because I don't like what they do, rap(dang, i have rape on my mind right now...*cough*) has just destroyed the mental stability of most of today's youth, which has rubbed off on me and caused me to flunk the 8th grade. Now, to take out my anger...

i have to agree rap is rubbish, you just cant call mindless talking a song.

apart from rap i can listen to most music, i like some rave, Japanese rock, dance, and even a few pop songs. but by far my favs are rock, metal and heavy metal. fav bands are hammerfall, sonata arctica, nightwish, system of a down, black sabbath to name a few

I disagree to some extent about Rap music being universally awful. There's some catchy songs - the problem I have with Rap is the image it portrays to young impressionable kids who are to stupid not to realise that these singers haven't ever "popped some caps into a pig" or "slapped his 'ho around". They're just sad little kids who were probably bullied at school for not being sporty enough, and usually have names like Neville.

Having said that - I think pop trash is more irritating. Fame Academy et al - yuk

the only song which I thought was a crime against humanity, but is hilariously bad is 'Mr Spock' singing "The ballad of Bilbo Baggins" - saw the video once - fantastically cheesy!
