David Bowie. But the song on Shrek 2 is done by something called Butterfly Boucher.

Re: Ch, ch changes...

My response was to Ivy, not you - you just beat me to the punch. What's not to like about Bowie?

Re: Ch, ch changes...

Correct, correct. Although I imagine there's lots to dislike about Butterfly Boucher.

Re: Ch, ch changes...

Starting with the name. Do you fancy it's just one person, or a group? Sounds like a tweeny-bop kinda deal, but then, what can you expect from a soundtrack like 'Shrek 2' - let's get questionably-talented flash-in-the-pan acts to redo classic songs! It'll sell like the clappers!

Re: Ch, ch changes...

was not condeming david bowie, but ozzie ozbourne, who has released a schmultzy version of this song with his ghastly daughter (horrible, horrible, horrible that ozzy should sink that low, even worse than the ozbournes...)
-funny note, my nephew, who believes he is a goth/metal hardman was presented with a copy of the cd from his mother for his birthday in front of all of his 'hard' friends. i thought he was gonna run away

and lets not forget, don't do anything unusual or imaginative with the script, but stick to old stereotypes, lots of cameos and substitue an annoying stream of one liners for genuine irony or satire

Re: Ch, ch changes...

David Bowie thread split from Star Wars thread.

Bought a couple of his early albums a couple of months back as an experiment - Life on Mars and Man Who Sold the World are great songs, but I find the rest of the songs on those albums somehow lacking.

" And these children that you spit on, as they try to change their worlds are immune to your consultations, they are quite aware of what of what they're going through." What a great line, still gives me chills.
