The Offspring
Any OP fans around here?
The Offspring were the first rock band I ever listend to, and Americana was the first rock cd I ever owned. I think their earlier albums were much better than the latest two, anyone agree/disagree? Some of my favorite songs are: The Kids aren't Alright Have you ever Self Esteem Smash Dirty Magic All I Want |

Strangely, I've discovered Green Day and Offsprings in the same time and at first preferred Offspring, now I'm more a Green day fan (love American Idiot) My favorite Offspring one must be Self Esteem, I guess. |

Re: The Offspring
The Offspring is my favorite band. From their self titled album to Splinter, I've loved every song (and I can't say that about many bands). But the reason I love them as much as I do is because the lyrics to a few of the songs really hit close to me. Amazed, in particular.
Favorite songs: Blackball (The Offspring) Kick Him When He's Down (Ignition) Amazed (Ixnay on the Hombre) Gotta Get Away (Smash) The Kids Aren't Alright (Americana) Denial, Revisited (Conspiracy of One) Long Way Home (Splinter) |

Re: The Offspring
They used to be a fun punk-as-played-by-Lego-models sort of trip, but lately they've started sounding like Quiet Riot without the fiery solos. Not a good experience.

Thank God the Dreadlocks are Gone...
Like Knivesout, I discovered Green Day and the Offspring around the same time, and had originally favored the latter. I think it had something to do with MTV pounding "Longview" into everyone's head around the clock at the time.
I am surprised that no one has referenced "Gone Away" among their favorite Offspring songs. It is probably my personal favorite by the band. |
