Any musicians here?

Be interesting to see all the musicians here step forward. What instrument/s do you play? I'd also be especially delighted to hear from any drummers in south-east London that like acid house/psychedelic rock/trip hop [Yes; that is a hint]

Had a band going for two years now with a few friends; although our demo tracks have been written and recorded by me playing everything on a four track recorder (not at the same time I hasten to add] basically because our bassist had never played bass before and our guitarist has trouble keeping time. Stars of the future ladies and gentlemen.

Had various band-names; but nothing has ever stuck that we really felt comfortable with. Singers come and go too.

Any bands/song writers here with demo tracks I would love to hear them no matter the genre of music; also be really interested to know what set-ups you use [amps and instruments] ? Music is such a personal thing and everyone has music inside them of their own waiting to be written and played. I think as an actual art form it's for me the most emotive there is; it can describe a mood or a feeling perfectly.

Hey that's rather nicely done mate! Good atmosphere music!

I take it you used a programme on the PC to get that all together? Or was it an external arrangement on a keyboard/sequencer ?

PC and Korg. Could have done with a better sound card, though it's all from a few years back when I had stuff on mp3.com - just before Universal screwed the place over.

Re: Any musicians here?

I have memories of MP3.com being a cool site 'before'. I remember when Napster was 'Metallica'd' there was a sudden stream of these MP3 sites that either went off-line virtually overnight or were radically overhauled invariably for the worst. I think that's around the time MP3.com 'ran into problems'.

I'm stuck using old analogue gear at the moment. Can't afford to get the PC sorted out to use it for recording (aside from having an old copy of Sonic Foundry Forge for inputting the music from cassette to WAV then to MP3).

Good going on the gig front! Bit daunting getting onstage at first isn't it?

The thought of messing something up onstage infront of everyone you know and being left there like a total imbecile is horrendous. Sounds like you went in there with exactly the right attitude!

I know the guitar you've got. There's a music store down in Brighton called GAK that stocked them. Nice guitars. If you're ever down that way take a look in there. Gets crowded at weekends but they have some awesome stock; and the drum shop is immense!

I'm currently using an Epiphone Wildkat in translucent black w/ a Bigsby trem. Plays like a dream and looks beautiful, but rather a hefty beast!

Yeah, i always use tha gak site to check on the prices before i ever buy anything because they have good prices, i usually buy down denmark street though becuase that has a great choice!

it wasnt too bad infront of school mates, well....lets just say i was focusing fully on what i was playing lol, it was weird because these days everyone seems to like hip hop and that crap but they seemed to acually like rock music, looks like we can convert them one school at a time :P

There's some cool stuff up Denmark Street. I havn't been up there in a while though. Used to be around there and the Astoria rather a lot for gigs and general music searching since going to Camden was a drag on the northern line. I havn't been to the Astoria or LA2 (I think it's called the Mean Fiddler now) for about 2YRs either. Furthest I seem to go for a gig now is Brixton.
