top 5 songs and albums

Been looking through this section and we have the 1000 list etc, but nothing about our own personal favourites.

So in this thread (in high fidelity style) you list your top 5 songs, AND your top 5 albums. No more. No less.

Obviously the list may change from day to day, so just do your current top 5.

I am blaming you, not Nick Hornby - and he wouldn't be anywhere near ANY of my top 100's!!!

Are you also looking at any particular genre of music???

I've got Classical, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, punk, SKA/Two Tone, Blues, Jazz, Motown, Classical Rock, Heavy Rock, Metal, Heavy Metal, Silly, Movie Soundtracks...

This is almost as bad a list of 5 favourite movies... Jeez, that nearly ended up with a virtual punch-up... Had to do one for each genre.. And that ended up with about 50 movies...

hahaha, stop being awkward! just do what jonzey, rosemary and spook did! they had no problems with choosing 5! but if you want to choose 80 songs and 80 albums and then write them down then its your choice!!!! its just your top 5 albums and top 5 songs! be a man and make a choice!!!

Re: top 5 songs and albums

Well I'll give it a whirl - like you said, it's pretty much the top five of the day, it's not like I'm never going to listen to anything else again! Actually what the hell - I'll even commit to these having been the top tunes of my week. See that? Who says men avoid commitment?

Top Songs (in no order)
The Libertines - Don't Look Back at the Sun
Muse - Screenager
Interpol - Not Even Jail
Deftones - Headup
Cooper Temple Clause - Blind Pilots

Top Albums (also in no order, apart from the order I typed the in)
Deftones - White Pony
Mr Bungle - California
Muse - Absolution
NoFX - Punk in Drublic
Radiohead - The Bends

Re: top 5 songs and albums

Albums first, because they were much easier to choose:
  • Joshua Tree - U2
  • Morrison Hotel - Doors
  • Wild Frontier - Gary Moore
  • Hotel California - Eagles
  • Summertime Dream - Gordon Lightfoot
Songs are much more difficult, and change more often:
  • Desperado - Eagles
  • Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding
  • Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
  • If You Could Read My Mind - Gordon Lightfoot
  • Moondance - Van Morrison
