Guess the song.

Todays lyric is

'I would go out tonight, but I havn't got a stich to wear'

Were starting off on an easy one I know.

Post the answer and another lyric for us to guess.

Re: Guess the song.

This sounds like fun! And yes, it's pretty easy (assuming I'm correct!) That would be The Smiths, with 'This Charming Man'.

This is one of my favourite lines from a song, which dates me terribly I'm afraid!

'I drive a Rolls Royce, 'cos it's good for my voice'

Very easy to some I expect!

Children of the Revolution by... someone

"Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk"

House of the Rising Sun - The Animals

"And I remember what she said to me
How she swore that it never would end
I remember how she held me oh so tight
Wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then"

Bob Seger - Against the Wind

Heres a very geeky one for ya
"My my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
He left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi, Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi""

Something by Limp Bizkit... can't remember the track name...

"We try to put it out, but it's a growing flame
Using fear as fuel, burning down our name"

Crying Shame - Jack Johnson

"I watch the stars as they fall from the sky.
I held a fallen star and it wept for me, dying.
I feel the fallen stars encircle me, now as they cry."

Re: Guess the song.

hmmmm... well that is the main chorus of the song but here are some more of the lyrics.

"It won't be all right, despite what they say.
Just watch the stars tonight as they, as they disappear, disintegrate."

AFI - Death of Seasons (My second favorite song from that album. Just for the record, my favorite was "This Celluloid Dream").

Easy lyric:

Life is a mystery
Everyone must stand alone
I hear you call my name
And it feels like...home

Re: Guess the song.

HMM.. wonder where Jonzey's got to?? Maybe she's gone to lay a bet for tommorow..

OK folks, how about these lyrics from one of my fav songwriters...

Caught between the twisted stars
The plotted lines the faulty map
That brought columbus to new york
Betwixt between the east and west
He calls on her wearing a leather vest
The earth squeals and shudders to a halt
A diamond crucifix in his ear
Is used to help ward off the fear
That he has left his soul in someone’s rented car
